Family communication

You always know how the day went.

Overview

Trust grows from small, regular information. Every placement includes a simple communication rhythm: a short daily report from the carer, a monthly review with the family, and an emergency contact chain that stays reachable when it matters.

The process

How it works

Each step ends with something written down, so nothing is agreed verbally and then remembered differently.

01

Daily report

A few lines at handover or the end of the day: meals, naps, homework, mood and anything unusual.

02

Monthly review

Once a month, the family and the carer review the schedule, what is working, and any adjustments for the coming weeks.

03

Emergency chain

The family defines the contact order. In an emergency the carer follows that chain — and it is kept reachable 24h.

What’s included

In scope

Anything outside this list is agreed separately, in writing, before it starts.

  • A short daily report in the format your family prefers
  • A scheduled monthly review with the carer
  • An agreed emergency contact chain, reachable 24h
  • Changes to the schedule confirmed in writing
  • A named coordination contact for anything between reports
Good to know

Agreements and fees

The daily report is a care note, not a medical record. Carers follow your written instructions on meals, medication storage and routines, and they do not diagnose or treat illness.

Communication language follows your family’s preference where the carer’s language skills allow — confirmed during the introduction.
