Terms of service
The scope of what we arrange, how fees are confirmed, and what happens when plans change.
1. What these terms cover
These terms describe how Local Solutions arranges childcare and related support services. The specific services, schedule, fees and house rules for your family are set out in a written care schedule agreed between you and us (and, where relevant, your carer) before care starts. Where these terms and your care schedule differ, the care schedule applies.
2. Services and scope
We arrange supervised childcare, after-school care, holiday childcare, help with daily routines and age-appropriate recreational activities. Where appropriately registered and authorised, residential childcare and overnight supervision can be arranged. Our carers provide practical care and routine support; they do not provide medical care, diagnosis, therapy or special-education services.
3. Orders and confirmation
An arrangement starts when you accept a written proposal that states the service, schedule, pickup range (if any), carer and trial period. Verbal requests are confirmed in writing before they take effect.
4. Fees and payment
Fees are based on the type of care, its duration and your family’s requirements. The fee basis — hourly or monthly, extra-hours treatment, and any carer background-check cost shown separately — is confirmed in writing before any trial starts. Long-term arrangements follow the stepped rates stated in your proposal. Amounts due under the agreed schedule are invoiced as set out there.
5. Changes, cancellation and refunds
- Schedule changes agreed in advance are confirmed in writing; extra time follows the agreed fee basis.
- Cancelled sessions follow the notice period stated in your care schedule; shorter notice may be charged per that schedule.
- If a trial period does not lead to an ongoing arrangement, you are charged only for the trial days used and any separately-stated check cost.
- If we cannot provide the agreed carer, we propose a replacement or refund the amounts paid for the affected sessions.
6. Responsibility
We select and vet carers before introduction, keep the verification records, and act on family instructions recorded in the care schedule. Carers follow your written instructions on meals, routines, medication storage and emergency contacts. Our liability is limited as set out in your care schedule and by applicable law; nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
7. Complaints
Tell us first — most issues are scheduling matters we can fix the same week. Email services@local-solutions.org with what happened; we acknowledge within one working day and respond with a proposed resolution. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate within our company using the same address, marked “complaint escalation”.
8. Governing terms
These terms, your care schedule and any dispute are handled under the law stated in your care schedule, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence.
